Be patient, takes a while to load lol!
Really hard to see in photos, but every illustration has some white thing spinning out into it. That's a wired NES controller. Each includes a random, fun-fact about the video game being illustrated. --- Final project for my Typography class. Our assignment was to create a book & theme (starting with the letter) oriented around a randomly assigned letter. We had to include 12 spreads, being: - Letter History (History of C) - Typeface Description (Of a typeface starting with C) - Letter Anatomy (Of C) - Copyfitting (One rule of) - Letter as Image (C in found image) - Image as Letter (Using C to make an image) - Adjective (Starting with C) - Noun (Starting with C) - Verb (Starting with C) - Resonance (Design that would resonate..starting with C) - About the Designer (Auto-bio) Obviously my letter was C and my theme Classic Video Games. I included the letter C in every image (except bio) to really reinforce the letter. All illustrations/written content/everything done by me. All made in InDesign. Mang this took long! First editorial design I've ever done. Had to rush the book (thus the simple design/pixel-like illustrations haha) as we were given little time to complete it and it was meant to be a partner project (but I like to go solo : D). Colors were hard to capture with my camera (I suck at photography!) and some of the faded grays in the page design didn't show up as I would've liked them to (that is..for the web). Way-long project, but good learning experience. I had to get it printed a few times. First time through I learned that when you print grays as tints as black the grays break up (look close and you'll see spaces between the dots making up the grays) so what I had to do was fake every gray using a mix of CMY. Lame! Anyways, C&C is appreciated - hopefully this is okay for my first time but any tips to improve would be appreciated! Thanks. Daily DeviationGiven 2008-08-09For a rushed first attempt at editorial design, C is for Classic Video Games by ~djsupes isn't half bad. The bright colours and pixel-style images really accentuate the classic video games theme and the clean, crisp pages look every bit professional. Using one mind instead of the two that were allowed for this project certainly seems to have worked in his favor. (Suggested by ~scarlet-rain and Featured by `lemontea) |
